| Description: | Students with this diploma will possess the skills necessary to help them find a job teaching English in their native countries. It is also ideal for foreign teachers who would like to work towards perfecting their English skills and fluency as well as learn how to integrate Canadian content and teaching strategies into their classes.
Areas of concentration include topics such as language acquisition, theories of language teaching, teaching methods, classroom management, curriculum and lesson development, ESL assessment techniques, and teaching skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students enrolled in the TESL program are given the opportunity to put theory into practice via in-school teaching sessions and peer observation. |
